Friedensreich (Regentag Dunkelbunt) Hundertwasser

"The father of the Green Rooth"

Friedensreich was an austrian artist and architect.
He was born on 15 th Dec. 1928 in Vienna, Austria and he died on 19 th Feb. 2000 on a boat next to New Zealand.
His official name was Friedrich Stowasser. His artist name means straight translated into English:  "Peace-Realm (Rainy-day multicolured) Hundred Water "
Friedensreich was a kind of peacemaker in person. He tried to get the nature back to the people's lifes. He lived the most of his life so close to nature as possible in the woods from New Zealand.

He planned and built several churches and houses in Austria, Germany and New Zealand. He also designed postage stamps and flags. His most famous flag is the Koru Flag.

The Koru Flag has been proposed as a second Flag for New Zealand.

In the most of the houses, which are built after his Designs are used as flats. The floors are not flat and on the rooth is earth and there growing trees. He was focusing on the experience of the viewer rather than the artist. He is famous for his original and unruly artistic vision and work. His art is famous for bright colours and organic forms. He has been specially fascinated by spirals and called straight light "godless and immoral".
Still after his dead 2000, were and get houses built after his plans.

His most famous house is the Kunst Haus Wien (Art House Vienna), Austria:

There is also a museum of Hundertwasser.

...I always wanted to go to Vienna to visit it. Hopefully one day I will manage it ;).
